Course Description

This course teaches the essential content and teachings of the 27 books of the New Testament.

Introduction

Prior to meeting for each class period, students should read or listen to the book(s) of the Bible that will be studied. At the end of each class session, please remind students of the reading assignment for the following lesson. This reading will ensure that students are familiar with the basic content of the book(s) before the group class.

When studying as a group, you may take turns reading the material. You should stop periodically for class discussion. As the class leader, you are responsible for keeping the discussion focused on the material being studied. It is helpful to have a time limit for each discussion period.

Discussion questions and in-class activities are indicated by ►. You should ask the question and give the students time to discuss their answers. Try to involve all students in the discussion. If necessary, you may call on students by name.

Many scripture references are provided in the text. Students should use their Bibles during class, looking at the passages being discussed.

Each lesson will include a test and at least one project or writing assignment that relates to the book(s) and themes discussed in the lesson.

At the end of each class session, you may review the test questions with the students. The following class session should begin with the test. Testing may be conducted orally or in written form. Each student should answer the questions independently, without help from others or the use of written materials. A test answer key is available for download at shepherdsglobal.org.

Each lesson begins with a short scripture memory assignment, which consists of key verses from the books to be studied. Students will be expected to write or quote the passages from memory during the tests.

If the student wants to earn a certificate from Shepherds Global Classroom, he should attend the class sessions and complete the assignments. A form is provided at the end of the course for recording the assignments completed.
